Alba Small Alabaster Linear Chandelier - Soft White

The Alba Small is a 900mm linear pendant light built from a single bar of natural Spanish alabaster set into a brass frame, suspended from twin steel cables on a slim ceiling plate. The stone bar runs the full length of the fitting, illuminated from within by G9 lamps that wash light evenly through the alabaster from end to end. The overall section is compact at 60mm high by 45mm wide, keeping the visual weight low.

The 900mm length suits compact kitchen islands, narrow breakfast bars, and two-to-four-seat dining tables where a longer linear pendant would overwhelm the surface. Suspended on adjustable cables from a discreet rectangular ceiling plate at one end and a smaller round fixing at the other, the light hangs roughly 700-800mm above a worktop or dining surface depending on ceiling height. Wiring runs through one of the cables.

Natural alabaster carries its own veining and tonal variation through the stone, so each Alba bar has a unique pattern that becomes visible only when the lamps are switched on. The brass channel that holds the alabaster gives the bar a defined edge and structural rigidity along its length, while the soft white finish on the housing keeps the daytime appearance quiet against pale ceilings. Multiple G9 lamp positions inside the bar produce a continuous run of light rather than visible hotspots.

What bulb does the Alba take?

The Alba Small uses G9 capsule lamps along the length of the bar to produce a continuous wash of light through the alabaster. G9 LED capsules are recommended for lower running temperatures and longer life. Bulbs are sold separately unless stated on the order confirmation.

What size island or table does the 900mm length suit?

The 900mm length works well above kitchen islands and breakfast bars between roughly 1.2m and 1.6m long, and above two-to-four-seat dining tables. As a guide, allow at least 150mm of clearance at each end of the surface so the pendant does not visually overhang.

Does the alabaster pattern vary between pieces?

Yes. Each bar is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, translucency and tonal variation differ between individual fittings. The pattern becomes most visible once the lamps are switched on and light passes through the stone.

How is the suspension height set?

The Alba hangs on twin steel cables, both adjustable on installation. The cables can be shortened to set the bar at the required drop above a worktop or table, typically 700-800mm depending on ceiling height and seating arrangement.
