Althia LED Alabaster Wall Light - Matt Black

The Althia is a 305mm wall light built from a natural Spanish alabaster disc held against a matt black half-bowl in solid copper. An integrated 8W LED inside the fitting throws warm 3000K light through the alabaster, lifting the stone's natural veining and casting a soft uplight and downlight wash onto the wall above and below the bracket.

Designed for hallways, stairwells, bedside walls and lounge alcoves, the Althia works at a typical mounting height of 1.5-1.7m where the alabaster sits roughly at eye level. The 220mm height and 180mm projection from the wall make it substantial enough to read as a sculptural fitting without crowding a narrow corridor. Wiring runs through a concealed back plate behind the half-bowl, so no cabling is visible once installed.

The contrast between the matt black copper shell and the pale alabaster disc is the defining feature of the design. The horizontal metal plane that bisects the alabaster creates a clean visual line and shadows the lower half of the stone differently from the upper, giving the piece a layered look as ambient light changes through the day. The matt finish on the copper minimises reflections and pairs cleanly with mid-toned plaster, deeper paint colours and natural wood.

Does it come with a bulb?

The Althia uses an integrated 8W LED rated at 3000K warm white on 230V mains. The LED is built into the fitting, so there is no separate bulb to source or replace.

Is it dimmable?

The integrated LED is rated at 8W, 230V. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model, so please contact us before pairing the Althia with a dimmer to confirm suitability.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The Althia is supplied without a stated IP rating in the specification, so it should be treated as an indoor fitting for dry locations only. It is not suitable for bathroom zones or outdoor use.

Will the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each disc is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual fittings. The pattern only becomes fully visible once the LED is switched on.
