Alviora Alabaster Sphere Wall Light - Soft White & Brass

The Alviora is a 150mm alabaster wall light built around a single sphere of natural Spanish alabaster, mounted on a circular brass disc that fixes flush to the wall. A G9 lamp sits inside the sphere (sold separately), and when lit the alabaster itself becomes the diffuser, glowing from within and revealing the mineral veining running through the stone.

Suited to hallways, stairwells, bedside positions and bathroom zones outside the IP-rated splash areas, the compact 150mm diameter keeps the projection from the wall modest enough to work in narrow corridors and beside doorways. Pairs of Alviora wall lights flanking a bed, mirror or fireplace work particularly well, as the spherical form reads cleanly from any angle. Installation is via the brass back plate over a standard wall fixing point.

Each sphere is cut and shaped from a solid block of alabaster, so the grey-toned veining, cloudy tonal shifts and translucency vary between individual pieces. The warm brass disc behind the stone provides a defined geometric backdrop and picks up reflected light from the sphere when the lamp is on. Combined material weight stays manageable for typical plasterboard or masonry walls with appropriate fixings.

What bulb does the Alviora take?

The fitting takes a single G9 capsule lamp (sold separately). Most users pair it with a warm-white 2700K-3000K G9 LED at 3-4W to bring out the warmth of the alabaster and brass without overheating the stone.

Does each piece look identical?

No. The sphere is shaped from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, grey mineral patterns and translucency differ between individual pieces. Variation is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The Alviora is not supplied with a bathroom IP rating in the data provided. It is suitable for general indoor use including bedrooms, hallways and living rooms. For bathroom installation, use only outside the regulated IP zones and consult a qualified electrician.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth, and for stubborn marks use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can stain or etch the stone.
