Aurelin Column Alabaster Table Lamp - Brass & Soft White

The Aurelin is a 680mm column table lamp built around a cylindrical shaft of natural Spanish alabaster, divided by two polished brass bands and finished with a white drum shade. The shaft sits on a solid square brass base and is topped with a matching brass collar, ball finial and harp assembly. A single E27 lamp socket sits beneath the shade (bulb sold separately).

Sized for console tables, sideboards and bedside cabinets, the 360mm shade diameter and 680mm overall height make the Aurelin best suited to surfaces 80-100cm wide where it has room to read as a vertical accent. The translucent alabaster shaft glows softly when lit, giving the lamp a secondary low-level ambient function alongside the primary downward light from the shade.

Each alabaster section is cut from natural stone, so the veining and tonal variation differ between individual lamps. The polished brass banding wraps the column at the top, middle and base, segmenting the shaft into two lit panels and giving the piece a layered, architectural rhythm. The square brass plinth gives the lamp visual weight at floor level, balancing the lighter shade above and keeping the proportions stable on narrower furniture.

What bulb does the Aurelin take?

The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the alabaster column and brass detailing.

Does the alabaster column light up as well as the shade?

The primary light source sits beneath the drum shade and casts most of the light upward and downward through the shade. The natural alabaster shaft is translucent, so it glows gently when ambient light catches it, but it is not separately lit by an internal LED.

Will each lamp look the same?

No. The alabaster is natural Spanish stone, so the veining, banding and tonal variation differ between pieces. This is a feature of the material rather than a defect, and means each Aurelin is visually unique.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, and do not soak the stone with water. The brass bands and base can be wiped with the same dry cloth.
