Auriel 7 Light Alabaster Chandelier - Soft White & Brushed Brass

The Auriel is a 7-light cluster chandelier built around seven 120mm spherical shades cut from natural Spanish alabaster, suspended on fine clear cables from a brushed brass ceiling canopy. Each shade houses a G9 lamp (sold separately), and the seven globes group into a rounded cluster at the bottom of the drop rather than spreading horizontally, giving the fitting a 380mm overall diameter despite its seven light points.

Designed for entrance halls, stairwells, dining tables and bedrooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, the Auriel works in spaces that need a sculptural light source without a wide footprint. The 1500mm maximum drop is adjustable on installation by shortening the suspension cables, so the cluster can be set lower over a dining table or higher in a hallway. The narrow 380mm diameter suits round dining tables from 900mm upwards and round entrance hall positions where a wide chandelier would feel out of scale.

Each alabaster sphere shows different mineral veining and tonal clouding because the shades are cut from natural stone rather than moulded glass. When the G9 lamps are lit, the veining inside each globe becomes more visible and the cluster reads as seven individual stones rather than seven matching shades. The brushed brass canopy is 230V mains rated and fits standard UK ceiling roses; the clear cables visually disappear against pale ceilings, leaving the cluster of globes appearing to float beneath the brass disc.

What bulbs does the Auriel take?

The chandelier takes seven G9 capsule lamps, sold separately. Most buyers pair it with warm-white 2700K-3000K LED G9 bulbs to bring out the natural veining in the alabaster. Avoid high-wattage halogen G9 lamps, which run hot inside enclosed alabaster shades.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is compatible with dimming, but dimmability ultimately depends on the G9 lamps fitted and the dimmer module used. Choose dimmable LED G9 lamps and a trailing-edge dimmer rated for LED loads for the best result.

Can the drop be shortened?

Yes. The 1500mm maximum drop is set by the suspension cables and can be shortened on installation to suit lower ceilings or to position the cluster closer to a dining table.

Will every shade look the same?

No. Each 120mm sphere is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, mineral markings and tonal clouding vary between shades. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and becomes more visible when the lamps are lit.
