Brinex 1 Light Alabaster Pendant Light - Soft White & Brushed Brass

The Brinex is a single-light alabaster pendant built around a compact drum shade cut from natural Spanish alabaster, paired with a tiered brushed brass cap and an E27 lamp holder on a black fabric-look suspension cable. The shade reads as soft white when unlit and warms through a buttery cream when the bulb is on, with the stone's natural veining only fully visible once light passes through it.

Designed for use over kitchen islands in multiples, alongside bedside tables as a hanging alternative to a table lamp, or as a single fitting in a hallway or above a console, the Brinex suits ceiling heights from 2.3m upwards. The cable length is adjusted on installation, so the shade can be set 700-800mm above a worktop or dropped lower for a focused pool of light over a side table. The E27 lamp holder accepts standard screw-base bulbs (sold separately).

The drum shade has a 100mm diameter, giving the pendant a small footprint that works well in tight spaces or hung in a row of three or five over a longer island. The brushed brass cap uses stepped detailing where it meets the cable grip, adding a small piece of visual interest at the top of the fitting without competing with the stone. Each shade is cut from a different section of alabaster, so veining and translucency vary between individual pieces.

What bulb does the Brinex take?

The pendant uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) lamp holder. Bulbs are sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-9W and 2700K-3000K works well with the natural cream tone of the alabaster and avoids overheating the shade.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural material, not a defect, and is most visible when the pendant is lit.

Can the cable length be adjusted?

The black suspension cable is shortened on installation to set the shade at the right height for the room. For a kitchen island the shade typically sits 700-800mm above the worktop; for a bedside or hallway position it can be dropped lower to focus the light.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
