Caelith 1 Light Carved Alabaster Table Lamp - Brushed Brass

The Caelith is a 405mm carved alabaster table lamp built around a vertical slab of natural Spanish alabaster, held within a curved brushed brass frame that wraps the stone on three sides and continues down to an oval brushed brass base. A single G4 capsule bulb sits behind the alabaster, lighting the stone from within so the mineral veining and tonal shifts read as the light source itself.

At 405mm tall and 150mm wide, the Caelith suits console tables in entrance halls, dining sideboards, bedside tables and low shelving where a vertical accent is wanted without a wide footprint. The narrow oval base takes up minimal surface area, leaving room for books, trays or framed pieces alongside it. The lamp is supplied with a UK plug and switched cable for standard socket use.

Each alabaster panel is cut from a different section of stone, so the cloud-like veining and warm cream-to-amber gradients vary between individual lamps. The brushed brass frame has a soft satin finish that catches ambient light without throwing harsh reflections, and the curved profile of the brass shields the bulb from direct view at seated eye level. Combined materials of stainless steel, marble and alabaster give the lamp a substantial feel relative to its compact footprint.

Does the alabaster vary between lamps?

Yes. Each Caelith is fitted with a panel cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral patterns and warmth of tone differ between individual lamps. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and means no two pieces look identical when lit.

Does it come with a bulb, or do I need to buy one?

The lamp takes one G4 capsule bulb, which is not supplied, so a bulb will need to be bought separately. Because the bulb is replaceable you can choose the brightness and colour temperature that suit the room. Please contact us if you would like advice on selecting a bulb.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the G4 bulb fitted as well as the dimmer used, as not all capsule bulbs are dimmable. As a plug-in table lamp it would typically be controlled by a switched outlet rather than a wall dimmer. Please contact us before pairing with an in-line dimmer to confirm compatibility.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the stone gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can stain or etch the surface. The brushed brass frame can be wiped with the same dry cloth.
