Caldera Small Alabaster Wall Light - Matte Black

The Caldera is a 470mm vertical wall light built around a slim column of natural Spanish alabaster, framed in matte black solid copper with a floating band detail crossing the centre of the panel. An integrated 6W LED runs the length of the alabaster behind the stone, casting warm 3000K light through the natural veining and turning the alabaster panel itself into the diffuser.

Designed as ambient and decorative wall lighting rather than task light, the Caldera suits hallways, bedside positions either side of a headboard, stairwell walls and bathroom vanities (subject to local IP requirements). The narrow 120mm width and 100mm projection from the wall keep the fitting unobtrusive in transitional spaces, and the vertical 470mm format pairs well in mirrored arrangements either side of a doorway, mirror or piece of artwork.

The combination of solid copper frame in a matte black finish and natural alabaster panel gives the fitting visible weight and material contrast. The floating band crossing the front of the alabaster is a single architectural detail that adds depth to an otherwise minimal silhouette. Each alabaster panel is cut from natural stone, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces — once lit, no two Calderas display exactly the same pattern through the stone.

Does the Caldera come with a bulb?

The light source is an integrated 6W LED rated at 3000K (warm white), so no separate bulb is required. The LED is concealed behind the alabaster panel and is not user-replaceable.

Is it suitable for bathroom use?

The Caldera is supplied without a published IP rating in our specification, so it should not be installed in bathroom zones 0, 1 or 2 where direct water contact is possible. For vanity-area use outside of those zones, please confirm with your electrician.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. The variation becomes most visible once the light is switched on.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, as alabaster is porous and softer than marble.
