Caldris LED Circular Alabaster Wall Light - Matt Black

The Caldris is a 292mm circular wall light built around a disc of natural Spanish alabaster, crossed horizontally by a matt black linear bar that houses the integrated LED. Light is cast onto the alabaster from the bar above and below, so the stone glows from behind rather than being lit head-on. The fitting runs at 3000K on 230V mains and projects only 102mm from the wall.

The shallow projection makes Caldris suitable for hallways, landings, stairwells and bedside positions where a deeper fitting would catch shoulders or sightlines. As a wall-washer rather than a directional reading light, it works best as ambient or accent lighting either side of a bed, flanking a fireplace, or paired along a corridor at regular intervals. Hard-wired installation to a standard UK back box.

The alabaster disc shows the natural cloudy veining and tonal variation typical of the stone, so each Caldris differs slightly in the pattern that becomes visible when lit. The matt black bar is finished in solid copper with a low-sheen powder coat, giving a flat dark line that frames the disc cleanly without reflecting the LED behind it. At 225mm tall and 292mm wide the fitting reads as a substantial circular feature without dominating a smaller wall.

Does the Caldris come with a bulb?

The LED is integrated into the matt black bar across the disc, so no separate bulb is needed or fitted. The light source runs at 3000K (warm white) on 230V mains.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No IP rating is listed for this fitting, so it should be installed in dry indoor locations only. For bathrooms, choose a wall light with a stated IP44 or higher rating appropriate to the zone.

Where does the light actually come from?

The integrated LED sits within the horizontal black bar that crosses the alabaster disc. Light is cast upward onto the upper half of the disc and downward onto the lower half, so the alabaster itself becomes the visible glowing surface rather than a bare bulb.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the disc gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can mark or dull the natural stone surface.
