Calvex Small Rounded Alabaster Pendant Light - Soft White

The Calvex is a compact alabaster pendant light built around a 120mm rounded shade carved from natural Spanish alabaster. The cushion-shaped stone hangs from a brushed brass cap on a black fabric cable, taking a single G9 bulb housed inside the shade. At 110mm tall and 120mm wide, the pendant is sized for clustered or repeated installations rather than as a solo fitting.

The compact diameter suits multiple-pendant arrangements above kitchen islands and dining tables, single-drop placement over bedside tables, or rows along a hallway or breakfast bar. The G9 socket accepts standard capsule LEDs up to the wattage specified on the lamp holder, and the black suspension cable is shortened to the required drop on installation. The brushed brass cap fits a standard UK ceiling rose.

Each shade is cut from a single piece of Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral banding and translucency vary between individual pendants. When lit, light passes through the thicker and thinner sections of the stone at different intensities, picking out the internal structure of the alabaster and giving the shade a layered glow rather than a uniform diffusion. The brushed brass cap and matte black cable provide a defined visual break between suspension and shade.

What bulb does the Calvex take?

The pendant takes a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. Most users pair it with a 2.5-3.5W warm-white LED at 2700K-3000K to match the warm glow of the alabaster. Check the maximum wattage marked on the lamp holder before fitting.

Can multiple Calvex pendants be hung together?

Yes. The 120mm diameter is well-suited to clustered installations or evenly spaced rows above a kitchen island or dining table. Each pendant is supplied as a single unit with its own canopy and cable, so spacing and drop are set by the installer.

Will the alabaster look identical to the photograph?

No two shades are identical. Each is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tonal variation and the pattern of translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, as alabaster is porous and softer than marble. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but do not soak the stone.
