Calynor 1 Light Column Alabaster Table Lamp - Brass & Soft White

The Calynor is a 660mm alabaster table lamp built around a solid cylindrical column of natural Spanish alabaster, set on a circular brushed brass base and topped with a 360mm ivory PVC drum shade. A slender brushed brass stem rises from the stone column to support the shade and houses a single E27 lamp socket (bulb sold separately).

Sized for console tables, sideboards and bedside cabinets, the Calynor sits comfortably on surfaces from 400mm deep upwards. The 660mm overall height places the shade roughly at seated eye level on a typical 450mm-high bedside cabinet, giving usable bedside reading light without glare. The E27 fitting accepts standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs, allowing the colour temperature and brightness to be tuned to the room.

Each alabaster column shows different mineral veining and tonal variation depending on the section of stone it was cut from, so no two Calynor lamps are identical. The brushed brass base and stem give the lamp a grounded weight and a warm metallic counterpoint to the pale stone, while the ivory drum shade with its banded edge softens the light into a warm wash. The cylindrical shade proportions follow the column below, keeping the silhouette quietly architectural.

What bulb does the Calynor take?

The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the ivory shade and complements the natural tones of the alabaster column.

Is the Calynor dimmable?

The lamp itself does not include an inline dimmer. Dimming depends on pairing a dimmable E27 bulb with a compatible plug-in or wall dimmer. Please contact us before pairing with a specific dimmer to confirm compatibility.

Does each alabaster column look the same?

No. Each column is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and gives every Calynor its own character.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the column with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners. The brass base can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth.
