Calyra LED Small Alabaster Semi-Flush Ceiling Light - Brushed Brass

The Calyra Small is a semi-flush ceiling light built around seven carved natural Spanish alabaster discs arranged in an asymmetric cluster on a brushed brass frame. A larger bowl-shaped alabaster shade sits at the centre, surrounded by six flatter petal-shaped discs at varied heights, each pinned to the frame with a polished brass cap. Integrated LEDs behind the alabaster cast a warm 3000K glow through the stone.

At 737mm long, 556mm wide and 279mm deep, the fitting is designed for ceiling heights from 2.3m upwards and works as a low-profile alternative to a chandelier in bedrooms, dressing rooms, hallways, snugs and apartment living rooms. The semi-flush mount keeps the light close to the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms where a hanging pendant would intrude on head height while still providing the sculptural presence of a multi-light fitting.

Each alabaster disc is cut from a different section of stone, so the veining, mineral colour and translucency vary between the seven shades. The stainless steel structure is finished in brushed brass with a low-sheen warm tone that pairs with the soft white of the alabaster rather than competing with it. The varied disc heights create subtle shadow lines across the ceiling when the light is on, lending the fitting some of the depth normally associated with a tiered chandelier.

Is the Calyra suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. As a semi-flush fitting it sits 279mm below the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights from around 2.3m. It's a useful alternative to a hanging pendant in bedrooms and hallways where head clearance matters.

Does each alabaster disc look the same?

No. The seven discs are cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tone and translucency vary between individual pieces. This natural variation is part of the material's character rather than a defect.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED is integrated into the fitting and not designed to be replaced by the end user. It runs on 230V mains at 3000K warm white. The fitting carries a 2-year warranty.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe the alabaster discs gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, as alabaster is porous and softer than marble.
