This alabaster table lamp pairs a cross-shaped column of natural Spanish alabaster with brushed brass detailing and a soft white drum shade lined in gold. The column is built from four alabaster slabs arranged in a plus-section, finished with a brushed brass cap, plinth and ball-shaped finial. A single E27 lamp socket sits inside the shade. The lamp measures 680mm tall with a 420mm shade diameter.

Designed for console tables, sideboards, bedroom dressers and living room side tables, the lamp's 680mm height suits surfaces around 700-800mm from the floor where the shade sits at a comfortable seated eye line. The drum shade diffuses light through the fabric while the gold inner lining warms the downward glow onto the table surface. The cross-section column also lets a soft secondary glow pass through the alabaster itself when lit.

The four alabaster slabs each carry their own veining and tonal variation, so the column shows different patterning on each face and no two lamps look identical. The brushed brass plinth lifts the column on four small brass feet, raising the base clear of the surface and adding a defined edge to the silhouette. What bulb does it take?

The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K works well, allowing the alabaster column to glow softly through its faces while the shade casts diffused light onto the surface below.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each column is built from four slabs of natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, mineral patterning and tonal variation differ between individual lamps and between the four faces of the same lamp. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.

Where does this lamp work best?

At 680mm tall it suits console tables, sideboards, bedroom dressers and larger living room side tables. On a surface around 700-800mm from the floor the shade sits at a comfortable seated eye line, which keeps the bulb shielded and the light diffused through the fabric.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
