Echelon 1 Light Stepped Alabaster Table Lamp - Brass & Soft White

The Echelon is a 560mm alabaster table lamp built around a stacked column of natural Spanish alabaster, with each block cut as a stepped tier that rises in a measured sequence to a polished brass stem. A 320mm cylindrical drum shade in soft white sits above, lit by a single E27 bulb (sold separately). The brass stem and matching square brass plinth bracket the alabaster column at top and bottom.

At 560mm tall with a 320mm shade diameter, the Echelon suits console tables in entrance halls, sideboards in living rooms, and wider bedside tables where a sculptural piece is wanted alongside the bed. The E27 fitting accepts a standard Edison-screw bulb up to the rating shown on the lampholder, and the cable exits at the base for routing behind furniture. An inline switch on the cable handles on/off without needing a switched socket.

Each alabaster tier is cut from a single block of natural Spanish stone, so the veining and tonal variation differ from one piece to the next. The stepped profile catches light along its horizontal edges, giving the column more visual depth than a smooth cylinder would. The PVC drum shade keeps the upper proportion calm so the stacked stone remains the dominant element, and the soft white finish on the shade pairs cleanly with the warm tone of the brass fittings.

What bulb does the Echelon take?

The lamp uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the alabaster column and the soft white shade for a relaxed ambient light.

Is the alabaster veining the same on every lamp?

No. Each tier is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.

Where does the Echelon work best in a room?

At 560mm tall it suits console tables in entrance halls, sideboards in living and dining rooms, and wider bedside tables. The 320mm shade diameter needs a surface of at least 400mm depth for comfortable placement.

How should the alabaster be cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the column gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
