Elaris 2 Light Double Cylinder Alabaster Wall Light - Brass

The Elaris is a 450mm twin-cylinder wall light built from two slim 80mm alabaster tubes stacked vertically and joined at the centre by a polished brass band. A circular brushed brass backplate fixes the fitting to the wall, and two E14 lamps (sold separately) sit inside the band — one firing up into the top cylinder, one firing down into the lower cylinder.

The up-and-down light distribution makes the Elaris suited to hallways, stairwells, bedside positions and living-room flanking pairs either side of a fireplace, mirror or artwork. With a 120mm projection from the wall, it sits clear of door architraves and skirting returns without dominating narrow corridors. The slim 80mm width also allows the fitting to be used in pairs at close spacing along a hallway run.

Each alabaster cylinder is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the cloudy veining and tonal shifts visible across the stone differ between fittings. When the lamps are switched on, light passes through the stone rather than around it, turning each cylinder into the diffuser and producing a warm, mottled glow that picks out the mineral pattern. The combination of solid copper internals, brass plating and natural alabaster gives the fitting a substantial feel for its compact footprint.

What bulbs does the Elaris take?

The fitting takes two E14 (small Edison screw) lamps, sold separately. A warm-white LED candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K works best with alabaster, as it lets the stone's natural veining read clearly without bleaching out the warm tone.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No IP rating is listed for this fitting, so it is designed for dry interior locations only. It should not be installed in bathroom zones or any area subject to splashes or steam.

Does each piece of alabaster look the same?

No. Each cylinder is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, cloudy pattern and tonal variation differ between individual fittings. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect, and is most visible when the lamps are switched on.

How is alabaster cleaned?

Wipe the cylinders gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners — alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so liquid cleaners can stain or etch the surface.
