Eliona Capsule Alabaster Pendant Light - Matt Black

The Eliona is a single-pendant light built around a cylindrical Spanish alabaster shade suspended inside a matt black capsule-shaped frame. The frame forms a continuous rounded oval around the stone, holding it in place from above and below while leaving the sides fully exposed. The pendant measures 400mm tall by 125mm wide and takes a single E14 bulb (sold separately) on a 230V mains supply.

Designed for compact placements where a slim vertical light is needed, the Eliona suits hallways, bedside positions, kitchen islands and stairwells. The narrow 125mm width makes it usable in spaces where a wider drum or globe pendant would feel oversized, and the elongated form reads cleanly against taller ceilings. Multiple units can be hung in a row above a kitchen island or dining bar with tighter spacing than larger pendants would allow.

The shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so each piece carries different mineral veining and tonal variation that becomes visible when the bulb is lit. The frame is solid copper finished in matt black, giving the pendant weight and rigidity without a glossy reflection. The pairing of warm-glowing stone against a dark linear frame creates contrast between the soft diffused light and the defined geometry of the surround.

What bulb does the Eliona take?

The pendant takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb on a 230V supply. Bulbs are sold separately. A warm-white LED candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the alabaster, since the stone diffuses the light into a soft warm glow.

Is it suitable for kitchen islands and dining areas?

Yes. At 125mm wide and 400mm tall, the Eliona suits compact island placements and runs of pendants above narrow dining bars. Multiple units can be hung in a row with closer spacing than wider pendants would allow. For a standard kitchen island the pendants typically sit 700-800mm above the worktop.

Why does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Each shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining patterns, translucency and tonal warmth differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and becomes most visible once the pendant is lit.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
