Eloria Stacked Alabaster Table Lamp - Black & White

The Eloria is a 700mm tall table lamp built around a stacked column of natural Spanish alabaster in a deep, veined black tone. Three cylindrical alabaster sections are tiered in descending diameters and separated by polished brass collars, with the whole composition seated on a circular alabaster plinth and topped with a cylindrical white PVC drum shade. A pair of brass pull-chain switches operates the single E27 lamp socket.

At 700mm tall with a 380mm shade diameter, the Eloria sits comfortably on console tables, sideboards and larger bedside tables where it reads as a sculptural object as much as a light source. The white shade casts ambient light downwards onto the surface below and outwards into the room, while the translucent black alabaster glows softly from within when lit, picking up the mineral veining running through each stacked section.

The black alabaster is cut from natural stone, so each lamp shows different patterns of grey and white veining against the dark base colour. The polished brass collars between sections and the brass finial at the top of the shade introduce warmth against the darker stone, while the solid alabaster base gives the lamp a substantial physical presence. Twin pull-chain switches allow operation without reaching under the shade.

What bulb does the Eloria take?

The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to the wattage stated on the lamp holder. Bulbs are sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the black alabaster, allowing the stone's veining to show through when lit.

How is the lamp switched on and off?

The Eloria uses two brass pull-chain switches positioned at the top of the alabaster column, just below the shade. The chains hang within easy reach without needing to lift the shade or feel for an inline switch on the cable.

Does the alabaster vary between lamps?

Yes. Each section is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining pattern, depth of colour and translucency vary between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect, and means no two Eloria lamps look identical.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, as alabaster is porous and softer than marble.
