Elovier Carved Oval Alabaster Table Lamp - Brass & White

The Elovier is a 650mm alabaster table lamp built around a column of natural Spanish alabaster with a carved oval aperture cut cleanly through the body. The stone sits between a brushed brass collar and a circular brass base, with a slim brass stem rising to a white drum shade and a brass ball finial. Light is supplied by a single E27 bulb (sold separately) housed inside the shade.

At 650mm tall and 360mm in shade diameter, the Elovier suits console tables, bedside tables in larger bedrooms, and sideboards in living and dining rooms. The 360mm shade casts a wide pool of ambient light directly downwards onto the surface below, while the open void in the alabaster column adds visual lightness and breaks up the vertical mass when the lamp is placed against a wall or in front of a mirror.

Each alabaster column is cut from a single block, so the veining, milky translucency and tonal variation differ between individual lamps. The oval cut-out is finished with smooth interior edges that match the polish of the outer surface, exposing a section of the stone's interior grain. The brushed brass collar, base and finial are tonally matched, giving the metalwork a coherent warm sheen against the cool white of the alabaster and shade.

What bulb does the Elovier take?

The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K is a typical pairing for bedside or living-room ambient light, and matches the soft tone of the alabaster.

Is the alabaster the same on every lamp?

No. The column is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, milky translucency and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. The carved oval cut-out exposes a section of the stone's interior grain, which also varies between lamps.

What size surface does it suit?

At 650mm tall with a 360mm shade diameter, the Elovier suits console tables of around 800mm depth or more, sideboards, and bedside tables in larger bedrooms. On narrower bedside tables the 360mm shade may overhang the edge of the surface.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the column gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, and do not soak the stone with water, as moisture can mark the surface.
