Elvara Alabaster Bowl Pendant Light - Soft White & Brushed Brass

The Elvara is a 220mm bowl-shaped pendant light with a shade carved from a single piece of natural Spanish alabaster, suspended on a black flex from a brushed brass cable grip. A small alabaster orb sits beneath the main bowl, partially visible from below, and takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately). The overall form measures 210mm in height with a 220mm diameter.

Sized for compact spaces and clustered installations, the Elvara works as a single pendant over a bedside table, in a hallway, above a console or in a small entrance hall. Multiple units can be hung at staggered drops above a kitchen island or dining table to create a layered arrangement. The cable can be shortened on installation to suit ceiling heights from 2.4m upward, and the brushed brass canopy fixing fits a standard UK ceiling rose.

Each alabaster shade is cut from a different section of stone, so the veining pattern, mineral inclusions and tonal warmth differ between individual pieces. When the bulb is lit, light passes through the translucent stone and reveals the layered structure of the alabaster itself rather than producing a flat opaque glow. The brushed brass cable grip and small fixings at the base of the bowl provide a warm metallic accent against the soft white stone.

What bulb does the Elvara take?

The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED of 6-8W at 2700K-3000K typically pairs well with alabaster, as cooler temperatures can mute the stone's natural warmth.

Does the alabaster pattern vary between pendants?

Yes. Each shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect, and is most apparent once the bulb is lit.

Can multiple Elvara pendants be hung together?

Yes. The compact 220mm diameter makes the Elvara well suited to clustered or linear installations above kitchen islands, dining tables and stairwells. Each pendant requires its own ceiling outlet or can be wired into a multi-port ceiling plate.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can mark or stain the surface.
