Esmira Layered Dome Alabaster Pendant Light - Brushed Brass

The Esmira is a 150mm alabaster pendant light built from two carved Spanish alabaster domes layered vertically, suspended from a brushed brass canopy and a black fabric flex. The upper dome forms a rounded shoulder that overlaps a smaller lower dome, creating a stacked silhouette where the two stone forms meet at a soft horizontal seam. A single G9 lamp socket sits inside the alabaster body and lights the stone from within.

Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, dining tables and hallways, the Esmira works well in clusters of two or three over a long worktop or as a single pendant above a bedside table. The compact 180mm height and 150mm diameter keep the fitting in proportion with rooms of standard ceiling height, and the flex drop can be shortened on installation. The G9 socket accepts standard mains-voltage capsule bulbs (sold separately), allowing the colour temperature and output to be selected to suit the room.

Each alabaster dome is cut from natural Spanish stone, so the cloud-like veining and tonal variation differ between individual pendants. When lit, the mineral markings within the stone become visible and the light spills warmly through both layers, with the seam between the two domes throwing a soft horizontal line of brightness. The brushed brass canopy frames the top of the alabaster with a warm metallic edge that complements the off-white tone of the stone.

What bulb does the Esmira take?

The pendant uses a single G9 mains-voltage capsule bulb, sold separately. Most buyers fit a warm-white LED G9 between 2.5W and 4W at 2700K-3000K to bring out the warm tones of the alabaster.

Can the drop be shortened?

Yes. The black fabric flex can be cut to length on installation by a qualified electrician to suit the ceiling height and the position above an island, table or bedside.

Will the alabaster look identical to the photograph?

No two pieces are identical. Each dome is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining pattern, tonal variation and translucency differ between pendants. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe the stone with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can mark the porous surface. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but do not soak the alabaster.
