Galaxy 1 Light Wall & Flush Ceiling Light - Black & White Glass

The Galaxy is a dual-purpose fitting that mounts as either a wall light or a flush ceiling light, built around a black metal canopy and a single oval glass shade with a clear upper section fading to a frosted white base. A single G9 lamp sits at the centre of the shade, with the frosted lower half acting as the diffuser and the clear upper section letting some light spill back onto the ceiling or wall surface.

At 16cm diameter and 17cm projection, the Galaxy is a compact fitting suited to hallways, landings, ensuites with appropriate IP requirements met externally, walk-in wardrobes and bedside walls. The flush mount works well on ceilings under 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low, and the same fitting can be re-installed sideways on a wall to give matching light points throughout a room. The black canopy sits close to the surface, keeping the overall projection short.

The metal canopy is finished in a low-sheen black that contrasts cleanly against white and pale-coloured ceilings, while the two-tone glass shade gives the fitting a quietly retro silhouette closer to a 1960s bathroom globe than a current minimalist puck. The G9 lamp base accepts standard mains-voltage G9 LEDs (sold separately), letting you choose colour temperature and output to suit the room.

Can the Galaxy be fitted on a wall and on a ceiling?

Yes. The fitting is designed for both wall and flush ceiling installation using the same canopy. This makes it useful where you want a matching light treatment across hallway walls and ceilings, or to pair a bedside wall light with a small ceiling fitting in the same room.

What bulb does it take?

It takes one G9 lamp (sold separately). G9 LEDs are widely available in warm white (2700K-3000K) and cool white options, typically rated 2-4W and giving the equivalent of a 25-40W halogen.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. As a flush fitting with a 17cm overall projection, the Galaxy works well in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above, including landings, hallways, walk-in wardrobes and bedrooms where a pendant would hang too low.

Is the glass shade replaceable?

The shade is held to the canopy at the lamp holder. For replacement glass on a 2-year-old or older fitting please contact us with the SKU (NHB005C-1) before ordering, as glass spares are subject to availability.
