Kate LED Large Alabaster Shelf Light - Soft White

The Kate is an 800mm wall-mounted alabaster shelf light cut from natural Spanish alabaster, with an integrated 3000K LED concealed inside the stone. The shelf measures 100mm high with a 200mm projection from the wall, forming a solid linear block that doubles as a narrow display ledge and a warm ambient light source when switched on.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and stairwell landings, the Kate mounts directly to the wall and runs on 230V mains. The light source sits within the alabaster itself, so the entire stone surface glows when active rather than casting a directed beam. Switched off, the shelf reads as a pale stone ledge against the wall and can hold small objects, books or sculptural pieces along its length.

Each block of alabaster shows different veining, tonal shifts and translucency depending on the section of stone it was cut from, so no two Kate shelves look identical when lit. The soft-white tone of this finish keeps the veining subtle in daylight and brings the patterns forward when the LED is on. The 800mm length gives enough scale to anchor a hallway wall or sit above a bed without dominating, while the 100mm depth keeps the profile slim against the plaster.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each shelf is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral patterns and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the stone rather than a defect, and the variation is most visible when the LED is switched on.

Can it hold objects on top?

The 200mm projection gives a usable display ledge for small objects, books, framed photos or sculptural pieces. Avoid placing heavy items or anything with a sharp base directly on the alabaster, as the stone is softer than marble and can mark under point loads.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED is integrated within the alabaster body and is not designed to be user-replaceable. The fitting runs on 230V mains and carries a 2-year warranty.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners on alabaster.
