Kavryn Raw Cut Alabaster Table Lamp - Brass & White Shade

The Kavryn is a 590mm alabaster table lamp built around a rectangular column of natural Spanish alabaster, left with a raw chiselled surface rather than polished smooth. A brass collar sits at the top of the stone, joining it to a 350mm diameter cylindrical PVC drum shade in white. A matching brass plate anchors the base. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately).

Designed as a side-table or console lamp for living rooms, bedrooms and entrance halls, the Kavryn pairs ambient light from the shade with subtle glow through the alabaster column itself. The 590mm height suits standard side tables of 500-600mm, placing the shade at typical seated reading height next to a sofa or armchair. Use it as a pair flanking a console, or singly on a bedside table where directional reading light isn't the priority.

The alabaster column is deliberately uneven, with chiselled facets, softened corners and varied surface planes that catch light differently across the day. Each block shows different mineral veining and tonal shifts depending on the section of stone it was cut from, so no two Kavryn lamps look identical. The brass collar and plinth introduce crisp geometric edges against the irregular stone, and the plain white drum shade keeps the silhouette quiet so the alabaster reads as the focal element.

What bulb does the Kavryn take?

The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED of 6-10W at 2700K-3000K pairs well with the warm tones of the alabaster and brass, giving soft ambient light without overheating the shade.

Does the alabaster glow when the lamp is on?

The shade directs most of the light upwards and downwards, but the natural translucency of the alabaster column allows a subtle glow through the stone itself, picking up the chiselled facets and mineral veining. The strength of this effect depends on the bulb wattage chosen.

Will every lamp look the same as the photograph?

No. Each column is cut from natural Spanish alabaster with a deliberately raw, chiselled finish, so the surface texture, veining and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural material, not a defect.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Dust gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, as these can mark or stain the stone. Marks on the white PVC shade can usually be lifted with a barely-damp cloth.
