Lirone Large Vertical Capsule Alabaster Wall Light - Soft White & Black

The Lirone is a 500mm vertical capsule wall light built around a single piece of natural Spanish alabaster, flanked by slim black metal fins and mounted on a brushed brass backplate. Twin G9 lamp sockets sit behind the alabaster at upper and lower positions, casting light up and down through the stone so the capsule itself becomes the diffuser rather than a separate shade.

Designed for hallways, stairwells, bedside positions and either side of a vanity mirror, the Lirone projects only 60mm from the wall, which keeps it clear of circulation routes in narrower corridors. The 103mm width and 500mm height give a vertical proportion that works well stacked beside tall mirrors or doorways, or paired symmetrically either side of a bed or fireplace. The fitting requires hard-wiring to mains, with the brass backplate concealing the wall box.

The alabaster is cut from a single block of Spanish stone, so each capsule shows different mineral veining and layered translucency that only becomes visible once the lamps are lit. The black side fins and brass backplate provide a two-tone metal frame that holds the alabaster firmly without crowding it, and the contrast between the warm brass and the cool black keeps the fitting from reading as either purely traditional or purely industrial.

What bulb does the Lirone take?

The fitting takes two G9 capsule bulbs, one positioned at the top and one at the bottom of the alabaster capsule. Bulbs are sold separately. A warm-white G9 LED between 2700K and 3000K typically gives the closest match to the natural tone of the alabaster.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No IP rating is listed for this fitting, so it should be installed in dry interior locations only. For bathroom use the fitting would need a confirmed IP rating appropriate to the relevant zone.

How does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Each capsule is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, translucency and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. This is a property of the natural stone rather than a defect, and the differences are most visible once the lamps are switched on.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners. For stubborn marks use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water and dry the surface immediately.
