Lucara LED Alabaster Single Pendant Light - Matt Black

The Lucara is a slender alabaster pendant built around a 600mm fluted column of natural Spanish alabaster, suspended from a matt black ceiling canopy on a black flex. The 100mm-diameter stone is cut with vertical ribbing along its length, breaking the surface into shallow flutes that catch and release light differently as you move past the fitting. An integrated 10W LED inside the column casts warm 3000K light through the stone.

The narrow 90mm canopy diameter and 100mm stone diameter make the Lucara well-suited to linear arrangements above kitchen islands, breakfast bars and long dining tables, where two, three or more pendants can be hung in a row without crowding the ceiling plane. As a single fitting it works as a sculptural drop in a hallway, stairwell or beside a freestanding bath. The 600mm column needs roughly 800mm of clear drop below the ceiling to read properly.

Each alabaster column is hand-cut from natural Spanish stone, so the veining, mineral patterning and tonal warmth differ between individual pieces. The fluted profile is carved into the stone itself rather than applied as a sleeve, and the matt black canopy and flex give a defined contrast against the pale alabaster without competing with it. The whole fitting reads as a single carved object hung from a discreet line.

Does the Lucara come with a bulb?

Yes. The Lucara uses an integrated 10W LED at 3000K (warm white), so no separate bulb is required. The LED is housed within the alabaster column and is not user-replaceable.

Can it be hung in a row over a kitchen island?

Yes. The narrow 90mm canopy and 100mm stone diameter are designed to suit linear arrangements. Two, three or more pendants can be hung side by side along an island or breakfast bar, typically spaced 300-500mm apart and dropped 700-800mm above the worktop.

Is each alabaster column identical?

No. Each column is hand-cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral patterning and tonal warmth vary between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe the column with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water can be used, but do not soak the stone.
