Lunara 1 Light Teardrop Alabaster Wall Light - Matt Black

The Lunara is a teardrop-shaped wall light built from a tapered matt black copper backplate with a 300mm disc of natural Spanish alabaster fixed to its lower half by four small brass pins. A single G9 lamp socket sits behind the alabaster, lighting the stone from within so the disc itself becomes the visible light source. The fitting measures 550mm tall and projects 150mm from the wall.

Sized for hallways, bedside positions, lounges and stairwells, the Lunara works as decorative wall lighting rather than primary task light. The 150mm projection keeps the fitting close enough to the wall to suit narrow corridors and around door frames, while the 550mm height gives a vertical emphasis that suits walls between mounted artwork or as flanking pairs around a bed, fireplace or mirror.

The alabaster disc shows soft mineral veining and tonal variation that becomes visible once the lamp is switched on, with the brass pins acting as small accent points against the matt black copper. Because the alabaster is cut from natural stone, every disc shows a slightly different pattern of cloudy white and warm cream tones. The matt black finish on the copper is low-sheen, so the contrast between the dark frame and the glowing stone reads cleanly under both daytime and evening light.

What bulb does it take?

The Lunara uses a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED G9 around 2700K-3000K to bring out the cream tones in the alabaster. Check the maximum wattage on the fitting before installation.

Does each piece of alabaster look the same?

No. The disc is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so every fitting shows different veining, cloudy patterns and tonal variation. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect, and it becomes most visible when the light is switched on.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

The Lunara is not supplied with an IP rating in our specification, so it should be treated as an indoor decorative wall light for dry locations. It is not suitable for bathroom zones or outdoor use.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth to remove dust. Avoid water, household sprays and chemical cleaners, which can mark or stain the surface of the stone.
