Marea Round LED Alabaster Semi-Flush Ceiling Light - Matte Black

The Marea is a 400mm round semi-flush ceiling light built from a natural Spanish alabaster diffuser held within a matte black solid copper rim. An integrated 12W LED inside the fitting casts warm 3000K light through the alabaster, turning the stone itself into the diffusing surface and producing a soft, even glow rather than a hard point of light.

At 200mm tall and 400mm in diameter, the Marea is designed for rooms with lower ceilings where a hanging pendant would intrude. It suits hallways, bedrooms, dressing rooms, landings and smaller living areas with ceiling heights from 2.2m upwards. The semi-flush mounting holds the fixture close to the ceiling on a small brass-toned stem, so the alabaster bowl reads as a self-contained disc rather than a suspended pendant.

The matte black outer rim wraps the upper edge of the alabaster, giving the piece a defined silhouette and a modern architectural profile that contrasts the warmth of the stone. Each alabaster diffuser shows different mineral veining and tonal variation depending on the section it was cut from, so no two pieces look identical when lit. Solid copper construction under the matte black finish gives the rim weight and a substantial feel.

Is the Marea suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The semi-flush design holds the fitting close to the ceiling with an overall drop of 200mm, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights from 2.2m upwards where a hanging pendant would feel too low.

Does it come with a bulb?

The light source is an integrated 12W LED running at 3000K on 230V mains. There is no separate bulb to purchase or replace, as the LED is built into the fitting.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each diffuser is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining patterns, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual fittings. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
