Montavo LED Alabaster Tube Wall Light 800mm - Brushed Brass

The Montavo is an 800mm alabaster tube wall light built around a single cylinder of natural Spanish alabaster, capped top and bottom in brushed brass and mounted to the wall on a slim brushed brass backplate. An integrated 20W LED runs inside the stone column, casting warm 3000K light through the full height of the cylinder so the alabaster itself becomes the diffuser.

The vertical 800mm x 65mm profile suits hallways, stairwells, and positions either side of a mirror, fireplace or large artwork where a tall, narrow light source reads better than a horizontal fitting. With a 90mm projection from the wall, the Montavo sits close enough to a mirror to flank it without crowding the reflection, and the soft halo effect across the wall surface helps define the architecture around it. Mounting is to a standard wall back box with the brushed brass plate concealing the connection.

Each alabaster tube is cut from a different section of stone, so the grey-and-cream veining patterns vary between individual pieces and become more pronounced once the LED is switched on. The solid copper structure under the brushed brass finish gives the fitting weight and rigidity, and the warm tone of the brass caps and backplate picks up the creamy base colour of the alabaster rather than fighting against it. Stone diameter is 60mm, sitting just inside the 65mm brass end caps for a clean shadow line.

What does it light up?

The integrated 20W LED runs the full length of the alabaster tube, so light is emitted along the entire 800mm column rather than from a single point. This produces a soft vertical wash across the wall on either side of the fitting, working well as ambient or accent light rather than direct task lighting.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No IP rating is specified for the Montavo, so it should be installed in dry interior locations only — hallways, living rooms, bedrooms and stairwells. It is not rated for use within bathroom zones.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each tube is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the grey and cream veining patterns differ between individual pieces. The variation becomes more visible once the LED is switched on and light passes through the stone.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe the stone with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but do not soak the stone.
