Details & specification
Description
The Morfia is a 260mm mushroom-shaped table lamp cut from natural Spanish alabaster, with a domed cap sitting on a rounded waisted base and a single G9 lamp holder concealed inside. The stone is worked to a thin enough section that light passes through both the cap and the base, turning the entire lamp into the diffuser rather than just the shade above the bulb.
At 260mm tall and 260mm wide, the Morfia suits bedside tables, console tables in hallways, and side tables next to a sofa where a low, ambient pool of light is wanted rather than directed task light. The compact footprint fits comfortably alongside books, a clock or a small tray without crowding the surface, and the low height keeps the bulb glare below seated eye level.
Because the alabaster is natural Spanish stone rather than glass or resin, each Morfia shows a different pattern of veining and tonal variation, most visible when the lamp is lit and the warmer mineral streaks become apparent through the surface. A natural brass detail at the lamp holder provides a small warm-metal accent against the soft white stone. The whole form is carved as two pieces — cap and base — which gives the silhouette its clean mushroom shape without visible hardware.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Morfia take?
The lamp uses a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. A 2700K-3000K warm white LED of around 3-4W gives the most flattering glow through the alabaster; cooler temperatures tend to wash out the natural mineral tones in the stone.
Does each lamp look the same?
No. Because the cap and base are cut from natural Spanish alabaster, the veining, tonal variation and pattern of warmer streaks differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the stone rather than a defect, and it is most visible once the lamp is switched on.
Where does the Morfia work best?
At 260mm tall it suits bedside tables, console tables and side tables next to seating, where a low ambient glow is wanted rather than reading-level task light. The whole stone surface lights up softly, so it reads as a sculptural object during the day and a diffused light source in the evening.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth; for marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can stain or etch the stone.
