Nerix 1 Light Small Drum Alabaster Pendant - Soft White & Brushed Brass

The Nerix is a small drum-shaped alabaster pendant light measuring 130mm in diameter and 210mm tall, suspended on a brushed brass stem and matching ceiling canopy. The shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster in a softly rounded cylindrical form, and an E27 lamp holder sits at the top of the shade where the brass collar meets the stone (bulb sold separately).

The compact 130mm diameter makes the Nerix well suited to clustered installations over kitchen islands and dining tables, lined up along breakfast bars, or used singly above a bedside table, hallway console or stairwell landing. The brushed brass canopy fits a standard UK ceiling rose, and the cable can be shortened on installation to set the pendant at the right drop for the room.

Each alabaster shade carries its own veining pattern and tonal variation through the stone, so individual pendants in a cluster will not look identical when lit — a feature of the natural material rather than a defect. The brushed brass finish on the stem, collar and canopy gives a muted warm sheen rather than a mirror polish, which softens reflections and pairs comfortably with both warm-toned and cooler interiors. Light passing through the alabaster picks up the mineral layers within the stone and casts a warm ambient glow downwards from the open base.

What bulb does the Nerix take?

The pendant uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K works well with the alabaster, as cooler bulbs can flatten the warmth that the stone naturally adds to transmitted light.

Can it be installed as a cluster?

Yes. The 130mm diameter and individual canopy make the Nerix well suited to clustered installations over kitchen islands, dining tables and breakfast bars. Each pendant is supplied with its own ceiling fixing, so spacing and drop heights can be set independently on installation.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. In a cluster of two or more, the shades will not look identical when lit — this is a characteristic of the natural stone.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
