Novera 1 Light Conical Alabaster Pendant Light - Brushed Brass

The Novera is a single-pendant light built around a 160mm conical shade cut from natural Spanish alabaster, suspended on a slim brushed brass rod and lampholder. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the cone and casts light downward through the alabaster, with the stone itself acting as the diffuser. The soft white alabaster shows grey veining and tonal variation that becomes visible when the lamp is lit.

The compact 160mm diameter makes the Novera suited to clustered installations over kitchen islands and dining tables, single-pendant placement above bedside tables, or in narrow hallways and stairwells where a larger shade would feel imposing. The conical profile directs light downward more sharply than a domed shade, giving usable task light over a worktop or table while still allowing the stone to glow ambiently.

Each alabaster cone is cut from a single block of stone, so the veining patterns and density vary between pieces and no two shades look identical when illuminated. The brushed brass lampholder, knurled collar and rod are finished in a muted matt-warm tone that pairs comfortably with both warm and cooler interior palettes. The simple geometric shape and restrained metalwork keep the visual weight low despite the substantial natural stone shade.

What bulb does the Novera take?

The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-9W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the natural alabaster, since cooler colour temperatures can flatten the warm tones in the stone.

Can the drop length be adjusted?

Yes. The suspension cable can be shortened on installation to suit the ceiling height. Typical installation places the shade 700-800mm above a dining table or kitchen island, or 300-400mm above a bedside table.

Does the alabaster vary between pendants?

Yes. Each shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining patterns, tonal shifts and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect, and the variation only becomes more apparent once the lamp is switched on.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the shade with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can stain or etch the surface of the stone.
