Olivaro Petal Alabaster Wall Light - Matte Black

The Olivaro is a 350mm single-light wall fitting built around a petal-form shade carved from natural Spanish alabaster, mounted on a slim cylindrical stem and round wall plate finished in matte black. The shade measures 130mm in diameter and sits cup-up on the stem, with a softly scalloped rim that breaks the silhouette into petal-like sections. Light source is a single E14 lamp (sold separately) housed inside the alabaster cup.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, dressing areas and dining rooms where a vertical wall light works better than a pendant, the Olivaro pairs accent and ambient function. The cup-up shade orientation throws most of the light upward as a wall wash while the alabaster itself glows from the lamp inside, giving a warm secondary light at shade height. The round backplate covers a standard recessed wiring point and the fitting projects roughly 130mm from the wall.

The shade is cut from solid Spanish alabaster with the scalloped rim hand-finished, so each piece shows different amber and cream veining through the translucent stone. The frame is solid copper with a matte black finish, giving the metalwork weight and a low-sheen surface that contrasts cleanly against the pale shade. The combination of dark cylindrical stem, circular backplate and petal cup keeps the geometry simple while the natural stone carries the visual interest.

What bulb does the Olivaro take?

The fitting takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) lamp, sold separately. A warm-white LED candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K works well, allowing the alabaster to glow warmly without overpowering the shade.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No IP rating is listed for this fitting, so it is intended for dry indoor locations only. Suitable rooms include hallways, bedrooms, dressing areas, dining rooms and living rooms.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each shade is carved from natural Spanish alabaster, so the amber and cream veining, tonal depth and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the shade gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, as these can stain or etch the surface of the stone.
