Ophira Small Alabaster Disc Pendant Light - Soft White & Matt Black

The Ophira is a compact alabaster disc pendant light measuring 180mm across and 120mm tall, built around a flat horizontal disc of natural Spanish alabaster topped with a smooth cylindrical alabaster section that meets the matt black suspension cable. A single E14 lamp socket sits inside the disc, with the bulb visible from below through the open underside of the stone shade.

Suited to kitchen islands, breakfast bars, dining tables and hallways, the Ophira works well in clusters of two, three or five fittings staggered at different drop heights, or as a single pendant above a side table or bedside position. The matt black cable can be shortened on installation to set the disc 600-800mm above a worktop or 700-800mm above a dining surface. The fitting attaches to a standard UK ceiling rose.

Each disc is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the pale soft-white surface carries subtle mineral veining and faint tonal variation that no two pieces share. When the bulb is lit, the stone glows warmly from within, showing the depth and translucency of the alabaster while the matt black cable and lamp holder give a sharp graphic contrast against the pale shade. The combined brass internal hardware and alabaster shade make the fitting feel substantial despite its small footprint.

What bulb does the Ophira take?

The pendant takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED golf-ball or round bulb between 4W-6W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the alabaster shade and gives a soft glow through the stone.

How many can be used together over a kitchen island or dining table?

The compact 180mm diameter makes the Ophira suited to clusters. Two or three pendants staggered at different drop heights work well over a 1.4-2m kitchen island, while five or more can be grouped over longer dining tables or stair voids.

Is the cable length adjustable?

Yes. The matt black cable can be shortened on installation to set the disc at the right height for the application, typically 600-800mm above a worktop or 700-800mm above a dining table.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each disc is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.
