The Orb is a 37-light cluster chandelier built from frosted white glass globes hung at varying heights on brushed gold chains, suspended from a brushed gold ceiling rose and central drop rod. The globes group into a dense cloud form roughly 80cm wide and 85cm tall, with 37 individual G9 lamps (sold separately) lighting each sphere from within. Three globes sit deeper inside the cluster to add depth and break up the silhouette when viewed from below.

Designed for double-height spaces, open-plan stairwells, large entrance halls and generous dining rooms, the Orb works best where it can be viewed from multiple angles and where ceiling height allows the full 85cm drop to hang clear of head height. In dining settings the lower globes typically sit 700-800mm above the table; in stairwells and atriums the chain length and drop rod can be specified to suit the void. The fitting requires a standard UK ceiling rose connection.

Each frosted globe is hand-blown glass with a softly textured surface that diffuses the G9 lamp inside without showing the filament. The brushed gold finish on the canopy, drop rod and individual chains gives a warm metallic tone that pairs with both contemporary and classical interiors, while the white glass keeps the overall mass light despite the 37-globe count. What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Orb takes 37 x G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this fitting with low-wattage G9 LED bulbs (typically 2-3W each) in a warm white 2700K-3000K to suit the frosted glass globes and keep total power draw manageable.

What ceiling height does it need?

The fitting is 85cm tall as supplied and weighs enough to require a structurally sound fixing point. It is designed for double-height rooms, stairwells, atriums and tall dining rooms. As a guide, allow a minimum ceiling height of around 2.7m so the cluster hangs clear of head height, with greater heights preferred for visual balance.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the G9 bulbs fitted and the dimmer module used. Choose dimmable G9 LEDs and a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer for best results. Please contact us before pairing with a specific dimmer to confirm compatibility.

How are the frosted glass globes cleaned?

Switch off at the mains and allow the bulbs to cool. Wipe each globe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth, or a barely-damp cloth for stubborn marks. Avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the glass or chains, as residue can wick into the lamp holders.
