Oria Alabaster Globe Wall Light - Brushed Brass

The Oria is a single-light wall fitting built around a 120mm sphere of natural Spanish alabaster set against a circular brushed brass backplate. Overall the piece measures 200mm high and 200mm wide with a 120mm projection from the wall. Inside the alabaster sits a single G9 lamp socket (bulb sold separately), and the stone itself acts as the diffuser when lit.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, lounges and stairwell walls, the Oria works well as paired sconces flanking a bed, mirror or fireplace, or as a single accent on a feature wall. The 120mm projection keeps the fitting close enough to the wall for circulation spaces and narrow corridors, while the G9 lamp delivers a soft pool of ambient light through the stone rather than directional task light. Mounting is via the brass backplate to a standard recessed wall box.

The alabaster sphere carries the natural caramel veining and cloudy cream tones characteristic of Spanish-quarried stone, so each globe shows different markings and translucency. The circular brushed brass backplate echoes the curvature of the globe and gives the fitting a layered, two-disc geometry on the wall. The brushed finish on the brass softens reflections and reads as a warm satin gold rather than a bright polished tone, sitting comfortably alongside both warm neutrals and cooler painted walls.

What bulb does the Oria take?

The Oria uses a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED G9 between 2.5-3.5W and 2700K-3000K, which preserves the warm glow through the alabaster without overpowering the stone.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself does not include integrated dimming, so dimmability depends on the G9 bulb fitted and the dimmer switch in the circuit. Choose a G9 LED labelled as dimmable and confirm compatibility with your wall dimmer before installation.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No IP rating is listed for the Oria, so it should be treated as a general indoor wall light only. It is not suitable for bathroom zones or other damp locations.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each globe is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so caramel veining, cream tones and translucency differ from one piece to the next. The variation is a characteristic of the natural stone rather than a defect.
