Orion 48 Light 2 Tier Ring Alabaster Chandelier - Soft White & Brushed Brass

The Orion is a two-tier ring chandelier built from 48 G4 lamps housed behind segments of natural Spanish alabaster, set within a brushed brass frame. Two circular rings hang at offset heights from a single brushed brass canopy, suspended on fine steel suspension cables. The larger upper ring measures 800mm in diameter, with a smaller ring suspended below to create the layered tiered profile. Each ring carries a row of alabaster cylinders that diffuse the G4 lamps into an even band of warm light.

The horizontal emphasis suits rooms where width matters more than drop, including open-plan living areas, double-height entrance halls and large dining rooms with rectangular tables. The 100mm ring height keeps each tier visually slim, so the chandelier reads as two glowing circles rather than a heavy mass. The fine cable suspension is adjustable on installation, allowing the lower ring to sit at the height that best frames the space below.

Each alabaster segment is cut from natural stone, so individual pieces show different veining and translucency. When the 48 G4 lamps are lit, the variation across the stone becomes visible as subtle shifts in tone around each ring. The brushed brass frame edges the alabaster on both inner and outer faces, defining the circular geometry and providing a warm metallic contrast to the soft white stone. The brushed finish keeps reflections muted rather than mirror-bright.

What bulbs does the Orion take?

The chandelier uses 48 x G4 capsule bulbs in total, distributed across the two rings. G4 LED capsules in warm white (2700K-3000K) are the most common choice and keep heat and energy use low compared with halogen equivalents. Bulbs are sold separately.

What ceiling height is needed?

With an 800mm-diameter upper ring and a smaller lower ring suspended beneath, the Orion is designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or higher. The fine steel suspension cables are adjustable on installation, so the overall drop can be set to suit the room. Above a dining table the lowest point typically sits 700-800mm above the table surface.

Does each alabaster segment look the same?

No. Each segment is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect, and becomes most visible when the chandelier is lit.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe each segment gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, and do not soak the stone. The brushed brass frame can be wiped with the same dry cloth.
