Orivon 3 Light Sculpted Alabaster Table Lamp - Soft White

The Orivon is a 300mm sculpted alabaster table lamp built from two carved pieces of natural Spanish alabaster: a ribbed tapered base and a banded drum-form shade, joined by a natural brass finial at the crown. Three G9 lamp holders sit inside the shade, casting light both downwards onto the surface below and outwards through the translucent stone.

At 300mm tall and 300mm wide, the lamp suits bedside tables, console tables, sideboards and curated shelving where a compact sculptural light is needed. The three G9 sockets give a brighter output than a single-bulb table lamp of the same size, making it a practical choice for reading corners and living room side tables as well as a decorative accent. G9 capsule bulbs are sold separately, allowing the colour temperature to be matched to the room.

Both the base and shade are turned and ribbed from solid alabaster, so the horizontal banding catches light differently across the height of the piece and the mineral veining becomes more visible when the lamp is switched on. Each block of stone shows different patterning, meaning no two Orivon lamps look identical. The natural brass finial on top is left unlacquered, allowing the metal to develop a softer patina over time alongside the warm tones in the alabaster.

What bulbs does the Orivon take?

The lamp uses three G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. G9 LED capsules between 2.5W and 4W work well, and a 2700K-3000K warm white temperature pairs naturally with the soft tones of the alabaster.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Both the base and the shade are turned from natural Spanish alabaster, so mineral veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual lamps. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect.

Where does the Orivon work best?

Its 300mm height and 300mm diameter suit bedside tables, console tables and sideboards. The three G9 sockets give enough output for use as a reading lamp on a side table, while the carved alabaster body works equally well as a daytime decorative object when switched off.

How is alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
