Orvyn Alabaster Globe Pendant Light - Brushed Brass

The Orvyn is a single pendant light built around a 150mm globe cut from natural Spanish alabaster, suspended beneath a slender brushed brass oval frame. The pendant measures 380mm in overall height, with the alabaster sphere sitting below the open ring so the stone reads as the dominant element. A single E14 lamp socket sits at the top of the globe, hidden inside the alabaster when the bulb is fitted (sold separately).

Sized for use over kitchen islands in clusters, beside a bed as a hanging alternative to a bedside lamp, or as a feature pendant in a hallway or stairwell, the Orvyn suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher. The compact 150mm diameter makes it well-suited to lower or smaller rooms where a wider pendant would feel oversized, and multiple Orvyn pendants can be hung at staggered drops over a longer surface to create a row.

Each alabaster globe is cut from natural stone, so the soft white surface carries fine veining and subtle tonal variation that differs between pieces. Once the lamp is switched on, the alabaster diffuses the light evenly through the sphere, revealing the mineral pattern within the stone. The brushed brass frame has a low-sheen satin finish that pairs the warm metal tone with the cool white of the alabaster without competing with it.

What bulb does the Orvyn take?

The pendant takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb, which is sold separately. A warm-white LED golfball or candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K works well, allowing the alabaster to glow without the bulb shape being visible through the stone.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself accepts a dimmable E14 LED bulb, so dimming behaviour depends on the bulb and dimmer switch chosen. For best results, pair a dimmable LED with a trailing-edge LED-compatible dimmer.

Does each alabaster globe look the same?

No. Each globe is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pendants. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.

Can the drop height be adjusted?

Yes. The black cable suspension can be shortened on installation to set the pendant at the correct height for the room. Over a kitchen island the globe typically sits 700-800mm above the worktop, and beside a bed it usually hangs level with the top of the headboard.
