Orvyn Large Globe Alabaster Pendant Light - Matte Black & Soft White

The Orvyn is a single pendant light built around a 150mm globe of natural Spanish alabaster, suspended from an elongated matte black oval frame with a small brass collar at the cable entry. The alabaster sphere hangs at the base of the frame, giving the pendant an overall drop length of 380mm from the canopy to the underside of the globe. The fitting takes a single E14 bulb (sold separately).

Designed for use in clusters above kitchen islands and dining tables, or as a single fitting in hallways, bedside positions and stairwells, the Orvyn works well where a compact decorative pendant is needed rather than a large feature light. The narrow 150mm globe diameter and slim oval frame keep the visual footprint small, so multiple pendants can be hung side by side without crowding. The cable can be shortened on installation to set the drop height.

The alabaster globe is cut from natural stone and shows organic veining and tonal shifts across the surface, with variations in density that become more visible once the bulb is lit. Light passes through the thickness of the stone rather than reflecting off it, producing a soft warm glow that picks out the mineral detail. The matte black metal frame and discreet brass collar provide contrast against the pale stone, drawing the eye to the globe as the focal element.

What bulb does the Orvyn take?

The pendant uses a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED golfball or candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the alabaster, since the stone naturally warms the light passing through it.

Can it be hung in clusters above an island or dining table?

Yes. The 150mm globe and slim oval frame keep the visual footprint compact, so two, three or more Orvyn pendants can be hung side by side at staggered heights. Allow roughly 300-400mm of horizontal spacing between centres for a clean grouping.

Does each alabaster globe look the same?

No. Each globe is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect and becomes most visible when the bulb is lit.

How is the drop height adjusted?

The total drop from canopy to the underside of the globe is 380mm as supplied. The suspension cable can be shortened during installation to set a lower drop height to suit the ceiling height and the position above a table or island.
