Petraia 2 Tier Floral Alabaster Chandelier - Brushed Brass

The Petraia is a 550mm two-tier chandelier built from sculpted natural Spanish alabaster petals arranged around a brushed brass frame. Nine E14 lamps sit within the structure, casting light outward through the stone panels and across the polished brass rings that hold each tier. The upper tier carries a wider band of upright petals, while the lower tier steps inward and finishes with a scalloped petal skirt. The fitting hangs from a brushed brass chain with an overall cable length of 1000mm.

Designed as a decorative centrepiece for dining rooms, formal living rooms, entrance halls and stairwell landings, the Petraia suits ceiling heights of 2.6m and above given its 360mm body height plus chain drop. Above a dining table the lower edge typically sits 700-800mm above the surface; in an entrance hall the chain can be shortened on installation to set the height appropriate to the room. The 550mm diameter gives presence over tables of 1.4m and longer without overwhelming the space.

Each petal is individually cut from natural alabaster, so the veining, translucency and tonal variation differ from one panel to the next. When the lamps are lit, these variations become visible as the stone glows, layering soft warm light through the two tiers. The brushed brass rings carry the weight of the petals on neat fixings and add a warm metallic line that reads cleanly against the cream-white stone. Unlit, the chandelier still presents as a sculpted floral form rather than a piece that depends on illumination.

What bulbs does the Petraia take?

The chandelier uses nine E14 (small Edison screw) lamps, sold separately. Most users pair it with warm-white LED candle bulbs at 2700K-3000K to complement the natural tone of the alabaster.

What ceiling height is needed?

The body is 360mm high and the cable length is 1000mm, giving a maximum drop of around 1.36m. The chandelier suits ceiling heights of 2.6m and above. The cable can be shortened on installation to suit lower ceilings or to set the right height above a dining table.

Does each alabaster petal look the same?

No. Each petal is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, translucency and tonal variation differ between panels. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect, and the differences are most visible when the lamps are lit.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Dust the petals with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, and do not soak the stone — a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable for stubborn marks.
