Petraia Floral Alabaster Wall Light - Brushed Brass

The Petraia is a 340mm tall alabaster wall light built around carved natural Spanish alabaster petals arranged in a layered floral form on a brushed brass frame. A horizontal brushed brass band encircles the upper section of petals, while a vertical brass spine supports the lower bloom. The fitting takes E14 bulbs (sold separately), with light filtering through the stone to reveal its natural veining.

Sized at 340mm high by 260mm wide with a 158mm projection from the wall, the Petraia suits hallways, bedside positions, living room flanks beside a fireplace or artwork, and paired installations either side of a mirror or doorway. The compact projection keeps the fitting close to the wall, so it works in narrower hallways and circulation spaces where bulkier wall lights would intrude.

Each alabaster petal is hand-carved, so veining patterns and tonal variation differ between pieces and between individual petals on the same fitting. The combination of solid copper internals, brushed brass framework and natural stone gives the light substance and a tactile material contrast: matt stone against warm metal. When unlit, the layered petal silhouette reads as a sculptural wall object; when lit, the stone glows from within and casts soft light onto the surrounding wall surface.

What bulb does the Petraia take?

The fitting uses an E14 (small Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K will produce the soft glow through the alabaster that the design is intended for.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No IP rating is specified for this fitting, so it is designed for dry interior locations only. It should not be installed within bathroom zones or in any location exposed to moisture.

Does the alabaster vary between fittings?

Yes. Each petal is hand-carved from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces and between petals on the same light. This is a feature of the natural stone.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe the petals gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but do not soak the stone.
