Petraia Linear Alabaster Chandelier - Brushed Brass

The Petraia is a 1400mm linear chandelier built from sculpted Spanish alabaster panels arranged in two rows along a brushed brass band. Twelve E14 lamps sit between the upper and lower stone tiers, washing light outwards and downwards through the alabaster. Two textured brass stems suspend the fixture from a flat rectangular ceiling plate, with a 1000mm cable drop adjustable on installation.

The elongated 1400mm length suits long dining tables, kitchen islands of 1.6m or more, and rectangular hallways or stairwell landings. Mounted 700-800mm above a dining surface, the twin rows of alabaster cast a broad band of warm ambient light along the table while the brass frame reads as a horizontal architectural line. The fixture works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above.

Each alabaster panel is cut from natural Spanish stone, so the veining and tonal variation differ across the twelve upper and twelve lower segments. The petal-shaped profile of each panel gives the lit chandelier a scalloped silhouette rather than a flat horizontal line. Solid copper construction beneath the brushed brass finish gives the 1400 x 350 x 360mm frame substantial weight and rigidity, holding the alabaster segments in even alignment along the full length.

What bulbs does the Petraia take?

The chandelier uses twelve E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most owners pair it with warm-white LED candle bulbs in 2700K-3000K to match the natural warmth of the alabaster. Check the maximum wattage per lamp on the included instructions before fitting.

What size table or island does it suit?

At 1400mm long, the Petraia works best above dining tables of approximately 1.8-2.4m and kitchen islands of 1.6m or longer. As a guide the fixture should be roughly two-thirds of the table or island length and centred along it.

Does the alabaster vary between panels?

Yes. Each of the twenty-four alabaster panels is cut from natural Spanish stone, so veining patterns, tonal variation and translucency differ across the chandelier. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect, and is most visible when the lamps are lit.

How is it suspended?

The Petraia hangs from a flat rectangular brushed brass ceiling plate via two textured brass stems, with a 1000mm cable drop. The drop is adjustable on installation to suit ceiling height and the desired distance above a dining or island surface.
