Selvara 10 Light Alabaster Cluster Chandelier - Matt Black

The Selvara is a 10-light cluster chandelier built from ten slender bars of natural Spanish alabaster, each suspended at a different height from a 600mm circular matt black canopy. An integrated 36W LED runs through the cluster at 3000K, lighting the alabaster bars from within so the stone itself becomes the diffuser. Total drop is 1500mm and the fitting runs on standard 230V mains.

The staggered arrangement is designed for vertical spaces where a single-plane chandelier would feel flat: double-height entrance halls, open stairwells over a landing, and tall dining rooms with ceilings of 3m or more. Drops can be shortened on installation to suit lower ceilings, though the cascading effect works best when the lowest bars hang well below the highest. The matt black canopy fits a standard UK ceiling rose and conceals the ten individual cable runs.

Each alabaster bar is cut from a single piece of natural Spanish stone, so veining, mineral patterning and translucency vary across the ten elements. When the LED is on, this variation becomes visible as subtle differences in tone between bars, giving the cluster a hand-assembled rather than mass-produced character. The matt black canopy and slim suspension rods carry through to a flat, non-reflective finish that holds its depth against both daylight and artificial light sources — adding definition to the overall silhouette without competing with the warm glow of the illuminated stone.

What ceiling height does the Selvara need?

The full 1500mm drop suits ceilings of 3m or higher, which is why it works well in stairwells, double-height halls and tall dining rooms. The individual cable drops can be shortened on installation for shorter ceilings, though the staggered cascade reads best when the longest bars hang noticeably below the shortest.

Is the LED replaceable or dimmable?

The 36W LED is integrated, so the light source is built into the fitting rather than using replaceable bulbs. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model — please contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm.

Will the alabaster bars look identical?

No. Each bar is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between the ten pieces. This is intrinsic to the stone, not a fault, and is most visible once the LED is switched on.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe each bar gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
