Selvara LED Large Alabaster Wall Light - Matt Black

The Selvara is a 620mm tall alabaster wall light built around a slender vertical column of natural Spanish alabaster, mounted on a matte black rectangular backplate in stainless steel. An integrated 8W LED inside the column casts warm 3000K light through the stone, turning the alabaster panel itself into the diffuser and revealing the natural veining along its full length.

Designed for hallways, stair walls, living rooms, dining areas and bedrooms, the Selvara works as ambient wall lighting rather than directed task light. The 100mm depth keeps projection from the wall minimal, so the fitting reads as a vertical line of light rather than a protruding fixture. Mounted in pairs either side of a bed, mirror or doorway, the slim format gives symmetry without crowding the wall.

The alabaster column measures 110mm wide and 620mm tall, with each panel cut from a different section of natural stone, so the mineral veining and tonal transitions vary between individual pieces. The matte black backplate is finished in a low-sheen powder coat that hides fingerprints and reads as a quiet shadow behind the lit stone. The stainless steel construction beneath the finish resists corrosion in interior environments including hallways near front doors.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each column is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural material rather than a defect, and pairs of Selvara fittings will not look identical.

Is the Selvara dimmable?

The integrated LED runs at 8W on 230V mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model in use, so please contact us before pairing the fitting with a dimmer to confirm.

Can it be mounted horizontally?

The Selvara is designed for vertical mounting, with the backplate and cable entry positioned for upright installation. Horizontal mounting is possible mechanically but is not the intended orientation and may affect cable management at the wall.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
