Seradina 1 Light Alabaster Wall Light - Brass

The Seradina is a single-light alabaster wall fitting built around a cylindrical shade cut from natural Spanish alabaster, suspended on a black flex from a slim brass arm and circular brass wall plate. The shade measures 100mm in diameter on a 260mm overall drop, and houses a single E14 lamp (sold separately) that lights the stone from within.

The fitting suits bedside positions either side of a headboard, reading corners next to an armchair, hallway runs where a series of wall lights replaces a central pendant, and bathroom-adjacent zones outside splash areas. The compact 100mm shade diameter keeps projection close to the wall, so the Seradina works in narrower hallways and alongside beds without intruding into walking space.

Each alabaster cylinder shows different mineral veining and warm tonal variation depending on the section of stone it was cut from, and the markings become more visible when the lamp is on. The brass wall plate and arm are finished with a softer satin tone rather than a high polish, which keeps reflections muted and pairs the metal comfortably with both warm neutral and cooler painted walls. The drop length is adjustable on installation to set the shade at the height that suits the room.

What bulb does the Seradina take?

The fitting takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) lamp, sold separately. A warm-white LED candle bulb between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K works well, allowing the alabaster veining to show through without the stone appearing cold or grey.

Can the drop be shortened on installation?

Yes. The 260mm overall height is adjustable when the light is fitted, so the shade can be set higher or lower to suit bedside, hallway or reading-corner positions.

Does each shade look the same?

No. Each cylindrical shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between pieces. The markings are a feature of the stone rather than a defect, and become more pronounced when the lamp is switched on.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
