Serano 1 Light Medium Pillar Alabaster Pendant - Brass

The Serano is a single-pendant light built around a 120mm cylindrical shade cut from natural Spanish alabaster, suspended on a slender brushed brass stem with a circular brass disc joining the stem to the shade. The pillar shade measures 230mm tall and houses a single G9 lamp, which casts light through the stone so the alabaster itself becomes the diffuser. Veining and tonal shifts run through the soft white surface, so each shade carries its own pattern.

Designed for over-counter, kitchen island, bedside and hallway positions, the Serano works well in pairs or rows where a compact vertical form is needed without the visual mass of a larger bowl pendant. The narrow 120mm diameter keeps sight lines clear across a worktop or dining table, while the medium pillar height holds enough presence to anchor the fitting in a room with 2.4m or higher ceilings. The brass canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses.

Construction combines solid copper internals with the alabaster shade and a brushed brass external finish, giving the fitting durability behind a softer surface tone. The brushed brass disc above the shade introduces a defined geometric break between the stone cylinder and the suspension stem, reinforcing the vertical line of the design. The pale alabaster pairs with both warm and cool interior palettes, while the brass detailing leans the piece toward warm-toned and neutral schemes.

What bulb does the Serano take?

The pendant takes a single G9 capsule bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers pair this fitting with a warm-white 2700K-3000K LED G9 between 3W and 5W to bring out the warm tones in the alabaster.

Does each shade look the same?

No. Each shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and is most visible when the lamp is switched on.

Can I hang several Seranos in a row?

Yes. The narrow 120mm shade diameter and slim brass stem make the Serano well suited to multi-pendant installations over kitchen islands, breakfast bars and long dining tables. Spacing of around 400-500mm between centres is typical for a row of three or more.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
