Silvarin Alabaster Table Lamp - Brushed Brass & White

The Silvarin is a 490mm alabaster table lamp built around a rectangular column of natural Spanish alabaster, framed on one side by a brushed brass upright and grounded on a stepped brushed brass plinth. A rectangular white fabric shade sits above on a slim brass stem, finished with a square brass finial. The lamp accepts a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and measures 400mm long by 200mm wide at the base.

Designed for console tables, sideboards, bedside tables and desk-height surfaces, the Silvarin works as ambient light in living rooms, hallways and bedrooms. The rectangular shade casts an even downward and upward glow over the alabaster, while the translucent stone picks up some of the bulb's light and adds a softer secondary glow at the column. Switch operation is via an inline cable switch, and the lamp runs from a standard UK 3-pin plug.

The alabaster column shows soft cloudy veining and tonal variation through the stone, so each Silvarin lamp has a slightly different surface pattern. The brushed brass elements — the side upright, the collar and finial above the column, and the two-tier stepped base — give the lamp a defined architectural outline against the softer stone. At 490mm tall the proportions suit surfaces between 750mm and 900mm in height, where the shade sits roughly at seated eye level.

Is a bulb included?

No. The Silvarin uses one E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K typically suits ambient table-lamp use and lets some of the light pick up the alabaster's translucency.

Does the alabaster vary between lamps?

Yes. The column is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the cloudy veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.

How is it switched on?

The lamp is operated via an inline cable switch on the flex and runs from a standard UK 3-pin plug, so no hardwiring is needed. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb fitted and the dimmer model.

How should the alabaster be cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth, and use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water for stubborn marks. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can stain or etch the stone.
