Strataform Framed Alabaster Table Lamp - Brushed Brass

The Strataform is a 770mm alabaster table lamp built around a square column of natural Spanish alabaster, set on a circular brushed brass plinth and capped with a rectangular soft white fabric shade. Four slim brushed brass uprights rise from the base alongside the stone, framing the lower half of the column before terminating mid-height. A single E27 lamp socket sits beneath the shade.

Designed for console tables, sideboards, bedside tables and reading positions beside an armchair, the Strataform works as ambient light rather than directed task light. The 430mm length and 280mm width of the rectangular shade give a wider light spread than a typical drum-shade lamp, making a pair suitable for flanking a bed or a sofa where even side-to-side illumination matters more than a tight pool of light.

Each alabaster column shows different mineral veining and tonal clouding, so no two Strataform lamps look identical when lit from within. The brushed brass plinth and frame uprights pick up the warmer mineral tones in the stone and soften reflections under daylight, while the soft white fabric shade diffuses the upward light separately from the stone's internal glow. The combined effect is two layers of light from a single E27 bulb.

What bulb does the Strataform take?

The lamp uses a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K pairs well with the alabaster column and gives bedside or living-room ambient light without overheating the shade.

Does the alabaster column itself light up?

Yes. Light from the E27 bulb spills down behind the shade and passes through the upper section of the stone, giving a soft internal glow alongside the diffused light from the fabric shade. The effect is most visible in the evening with the bulb on and ambient room light low.

Does each lamp look the same?

No. Each column is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral clouding and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. Buying a pair will give two lamps that are clearly siblings but not identical twins.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
