Stravion Small Ribbed Alabaster Table Lamp - Soft White & Black

The Stravion is a compact 300mm-tall table lamp built around a ribbed cylindrical shade carved from natural Spanish alabaster, set on a black marble base. The shade is cut with evenly spaced horizontal bands that step around its full circumference, with a single G9 lamp socket housed inside. A small black switch sits flush at the top of the shade for direct on-off control.

At 250mm in diameter and 300mm tall, the Stravion suits bedside tables, console tables, sideboards and bookshelves where a larger floor or wall fitting would be too much. The compact footprint and visible top-mounted switch make it practical for bedside use, while the diffused alabaster glow works well as low-level evening lighting in living rooms and reading corners. The fitting takes a single G9 capsule bulb (sold separately).

The alabaster shade carries natural mineral veining and tonal variation between bands, so each lamp shows a different pattern when lit. Light passing through the ribbed stone picks out the thickness of each band and softens into a warm diffused glow rather than a sharp directional beam. The black marble base anchors the composition with visible weight and a smooth dense surface, with discreet bronze-toned metalwork resolving the transition between shade and base.

What bulb does the Stravion take?

The lamp uses a single G9 capsule bulb (sold separately). A G9 LED in warm white between 2700K and 3000K typically gives the best result through alabaster, producing a soft warm glow that complements the natural stone tone.

How is it switched on and off?

The Stravion has a small black switch set into the top of the alabaster shade, giving direct on-off control without needing an inline cord switch or wall plug socket access. This makes it practical as a bedside or console lamp.

Will the alabaster pattern match the photograph exactly?

No. The shade is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. Each Stravion is visually unique, particularly when lit. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.

How should the alabaster and marble be cleaned?

Wipe both the alabaster shade and the marble base gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners, as both alabaster and marble are porous.
