A spherical alabaster top sits on a flatter rounded volume, which rests on a domed cylindrical section, with brass connectors resolving each transition. The lamp takes a single G9 bulb housed within the upper sphere, which becomes the primary diffuser when lit.

Designed as a sculptural accent for sideboards, console tables, bedside tables and shelving, the Talmera works as a low-output ambient light rather than a reading lamp. The 280mm diameter gives it presence on a surface without dominating, and the 490mm height suits positions where a lamp needs to clear lower decorative objects but stay below eye level when seated. The black base gives a defined visual stop against pale walls and lighter timber surfaces.

The alabaster is left in a soft white tone with the natural mineral veining and tonal variation visible across each curved surface. When the G9 bulb is on, the upper sphere becomes translucent and reveals the density variations within the stone, while the lower forms catch ambient reflected light without lighting through fully. Each piece of alabaster is cut from natural stone, so the veining patterns and warmth of tone differ between individual lamps.

What bulb does the Talmera take?

The lamp takes a single G9 bulb, sold separately. A warm-white LED G9 between 2700K and 3000K is recommended to complement the natural alabaster tone and maintain a soft ambient glow.

Does the alabaster vary between lamps?

Yes. Each section is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, density and warmth of tone differ between individual lamps. This is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect, and means no two Talmera lamps look identical when lit.

Is it suitable as a bedside lamp?

Yes. At 490mm tall and 280mm in diameter, the Talmera suits bedside tables, sideboards and console positions. It functions as low-output ambient light rather than a focused reading lamp, so pair it with a separate task light if reading in bed.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For marks, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water and dry immediately. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, which can stain the stone.
